Requirements for an Indian Business Visa
Important notice: there is a new additional requirement (see number 8 in list below).
- Passport (with at least two blank pages facing each other, valid for at least 8 months).
- Two 5cm x 5cm photos (must be recently taken + have a white background).
- Fill the Indian Visa Application Form online (links for online form and helpful guide available on page 2 of our Pack). Please make sure you sign in the TWO places where prompted.
- Print, complete and sign the Letter of Authorisation (page 3 of our Pack).
- Print and sign the Declaration form (page 4 of our Pack).
- An invitation letter from the Indian company (template on page 5 of our Pack).
- An original introduction/supporting letter from your UK Company (template on page 6 of our Pack).
- Incorporation certificate of the Indian company inviting you.
- Non-British passport holders need to provide two of the same type bills (the most recent one & one that is two years old) for one of the following utilities: Gas OR Electricity OR Water OR Poll Tax.

The Indian High Commission may choose to issue a visa with terms that are different from what you requested. However, this may be at the cost of the requested visa, which is non-refundable as per the Declaration. The decision of the High Commission is final, and cannot be challenged by GulfVisa.
As a first-time Indian visa applicant, you should receive your visa with six months validity, though this could be up to a year at most. If you require a visa valid for longer than six months, you must have visited India previously and be able to supply a copy of the visa used. However, visa terms ultimately depend on the Indian High Commission’s decision, so this extended validity is not always guaranteed.

How do I determine what type of visa I will receive?
When you fill out the online application form you can enter the type of visa you want, however, the ultimate decision is for the Indian High Commission and it is at their discretion which visa you will receive.
Who is eligible for an Indian Business Visa?
All British passport holders are eligible for an Indian Business Visa provided they plan to visit the nation for business purposes. This could include importing or exporting goods, establishing a trading company, or attending a conference or training session in India. Non-British passport holders may also apply for an Indian Business Visa if they have lived in the UK for at least two years prior to making their application.
You must provide an invitation from an Indian business including your full name, nationality, and information regarding the details of the trip and reasons for travelling to India. You must also present a supporting letter courtesy of their UK company.
This documentation will determine whether you qualify for a single or multiple-entry visa. The number of times you are allowed to enter and exit the country will be decided by the Indian High Commission.

Within the Indian company invitation letter, it is crucial that the company mentions how long they need the visa applicant to visit them and for what purpose (particularly if you are applying for a long visa).
How long is an Indian Business Visa valid?
The validity of your documentation depends on whether you are issued with a single or multiple visa. The former tends to be approximately six months long while the latter may be granted for one to two years.
If you are applying for a visa that is valid for at least two years, you must submit biometric information, such as fingerprints, at the Indian Visa & Consular Application Centre in London. You will be advised appropriately while you are completing our online visa application form.
The duration of your visa will be determined by how many times you have visited India in the past and the contents of your previous visa(s). If you can prove you frequently travel to India then you may be able to obtain a visa valid for as long as five years.
