Do I need to send the original document or a copy?
Non-ACRO Police Certificates
While solicitors tend to only stamp a copy of the document, they must still see the original paperwork, which means that you will need to provide this too. The exception is non-ACRO police certificates, as solicitors will only stamp original versions of these. For documents exempt from solicitor authentication and stamped by the FCO, these must always be original as the FCO does not stamp copies.
Non-ACRO police certificates require attestation from a solicitor before being stamped by the FCO and the Algerian embassy. Please select the ‘Solicitor + FCO + Algeria Embassy Attestation’ option for these documents.
