Entry Requirements for British Citizens
Based on the UK Government's travel advice for Bahrain, these are the key points to plan around:
- Visa: You must have a visa to visit Bahrain. You can get one in advance online (through the official eVisa website), in advance from the Bahrain Embassy in the UK, or on arrival.
- Passport validity: Your passport must have an expiry date at least 6 months after the date you arrive.
- Length of stay: Visas are automatically issued for a 2-week period, but visit visas for stays of up to 6 months are also available. You may be asked for evidence of onward or return travel.
- Working in Bahrain: You cannot start employment in Bahrain if you enter on a visit visa.
Residency and Extensions
If you are moving to Bahrain, you can apply for residency through the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA). To renew a visa, applications are made to the Nationality, Passports and Residential Affairs department at the Ministry of Interior.
